Purpose of Grant The NIH Guide, Volume 24, Number 15, April 28, 1995, announced the Academic Career Award (K07) which supports Development (mentored) and Leadership (unmentored) components.* NCI continues to support the Preventive Oncology Academic Award (K07) under the current NCI guidelines revised September 1993.

The purpose of the Preventive Oncology Academic Award is to develop cancer etiology, prevention and control researchers and teachers.

*Guidance on the Development and Leadership components will be provided to GAB staff should NCI initiate support of these activities.

Research Experience Required and/or Eligible Degree Doctorate degree qualifying applicant for postdoctoral research training status, at least two years relevant postdoctoral experience and a teaching/research appointment in the sponsoring institution.
