The atlas is available as a printed book and on-line.

  • Printed book - The 367-page publication is available for free from the National Cancer Institute's Cancer Information Service (CIS). To order this publication (#T012), call 1-800-4-CANCER (1-800-422-6237); persons with TTY equipment, dial 1-800-332-8615. You may also order a copy online by visiting the CIS web site.

  • The Atlas On-Line - contains everything in the Atlas, including databases, text, and graphics files. County and state economic area (SEA*) rates are available for each cancer map. Tabulated data used to generate the atlas maps are also available.

  • Customizable Maps - This feature allows the user to create customized maps based on selected parameters. User can:
    • View county, state economic area, and state cancer mortality maps.
    • Compare county data to SEA, state and US data.
    • Control map parameters such as number of percentile ranges and colors.
    • Zoom in, zoom out, and pan
* SEA - individual county or group of counties within the same state with similar economic and cultural characteristics
