Wednesday, April 18, 2012 Dr. Abnet received a Ph.D. in Environmental Toxicology from the University of Wisconsin and an M.P.H. in Epidemiology from the University of Minnesota. He joined NCI as a Cancer Prevention Fellow in 1998 and became an investigator in the Nutritional Epidemiology Branch, Division of Cancer Epidemiology and Genetics in 2005. Dr. Abnet’s research focuses on the etiology of esophageal and gastric cancer, especially in populations with high rates of these diseases.
