Learning Objective

Be able to describe objective methods to test the criterion validity of self-report measures of sun exposure, sunscreen use, and covering-up behavior related to skin cancer prevention.
Explain the validity findings for sunscreen swabbing compared to survey and diary measures.
Demonstrate the importance of evaluating systematic error in sub-groups by gender, skin color, latitude, and study arms.
